Cookie Policy

Effective Date: September 6, 2026
Last Updated: September 6, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how HECO Heating and Air Conditioning ("HECO," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on hecohvac.com. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website or service stores on a browser or device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, software development tools, and identifiers used to operate features, remember settings, maintain security, or understand interactions.

2. Technologies HECO Currently Uses

CategoryPurposeChoice
Strictly necessary Supports security, form submission and anti-forgery protection. Authentication cookies are used for authorized administration accounts. Local browser storage saves your cookie choices so the website can honor them on later visits. These are required for the requested feature and are not used for advertising.
Google Places address autocomplete When enabled on the Request Service page, Google Places helps suggest and complete a service address. Information entered into the address field, IP address, browser or device information, and service interactions may be transmitted to Google. Google Places does not load unless you allow Functional technology. You can enter an address manually without using suggestions, change your choice later, or contact HECO by telephone.

3. Advertising and Analytics

As of the Last Updated date, HECO does not place Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, or similar cross-site behavioral-advertising cookies on the public website. HECO does not use cookies to sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If we add non-essential analytics or advertising technology, we will update this policy and provide any notice, opt-out, or consent mechanism required by applicable law before using it.

4. Google Services

Google operates the Places service and may process information under its own terms and privacy policies. You can review Google's information at Google Privacy Policy and How Google Uses Cookies.

Use Cookie Settings to accept, reject, or change optional categories. Your choices are saved in local browser storage until you clear browser data or we update the consent system. Withdrawing consent may reload the page so previously loaded optional tools are removed.

Most browsers also allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through their privacy settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent secure forms or account functions from working correctly. Browser settings do not necessarily control all technologies used by third-party services.

6. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

Where legally required, HECO recognizes applicable browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control. When Global Privacy Control is active, the website keeps the Advertising category disabled. Because the website does not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, the signal does not otherwise change our current practices. Apart from legally recognized signals, there is no universally accepted standard for responding to all Do Not Track signals.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this policy when our website, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the Last Updated date. Material changes will receive any additional notice required by law.
