The purpose of this tool is to identify what Heco should evaluate before recommending equipment. It does not calculate final system size, diagnose equipment, guarantee savings, or replace an on-site assessment.

Premium equipment only performs as well as the design behind it.

Before recommending a final model, Heco may need to verify:

  • Heating and cooling load instead of copying the old equipment size.
  • Duct capacity, return air, airflow restrictions and filtration.
  • Electrical capacity and any heat-pump or control requirements.
  • Whether variable-capacity equipment can actually deliver value in this home.
  • Current utility territory, incentive rules and fuel-conversion requirements.
  • Noise, zoning, upstairs/downstairs comfort and long-term ownership goals.
  • Serviceability, parts support, warranty requirements and installation details.

We may recommend against the most expensive system when the home cannot benefit enough to justify it.

Step 3 · Long-term operating cost

What will this home cost to heat and cool after we are done?

Heco's goal is not simply to quote equipment. We want to understand whether a replacement can improve comfort while reducing long-term operating cost.

For a more useful savings discussion, have recent electric and gas bills available along with the current equipment type and age.

Savings depend on weather, rates, household usage, thermostat settings, ductwork, old-equipment condition, new equipment performance and installation quality. No specific reduction is guaranteed.
